Well, well, well. It's been a week of blood, sweat, and tears, shall we say, but the backyard garden is now spreading joy to the homeowners.
Someone once said that every garden is "an enchanted one."
Indeed. Especially when it is your own.
Large or small, the garden should look both orderly and rich.
~ William Morris, Hope and Fears for Art
I feel closest to God in my garden.
The poetry of the earth is never dead.
~ John Keats
Nature is the art of God.
~ Sir Kenelm Digby
Blossoms all around me sighing ...
~ Maria Gowen Brooks, "Song of Egla"
The most beautiful flowers flourish in the shade.
~ Japanese proverb
I've learned that I cannot be truly sad while tending my garden.

Your garden is spreading joy to me too through these pretty photos! Your hard work has reaped rewards :)
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet, Lorraine. Thank you.
DeleteIt is soo peaceful and beautiful...I LOVE it! No wonder you feel close to God there. ENJOY!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie. I do love it out there.
DeleteBeautiful. Wanna come do mine?
ReplyDeleteSure thing, Renee. Just as soon as I finish the front yard. :)
DeleteJust downright AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteMy gosh, Dayle! Your garden shots are absolutely amazing. BEAUTIFUL! You have done an amazing job. That's what I have been doing this week, too. We don't have many blooms yet though- it is too cold here. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend. I bought bedding plants in order to have instant blooms. :)
DeleteI am in awe. Your garden is absolutely beautiful. I am going to be a follower just for that. The photos are amazing too.
ReplyDeleteI don't see anywhere to become a follower. Your garden is still divine!!
DeleteThanks, Roxanne. There should be a follower thingie on the sidebar, or a follow option at the top left of the page. Would love to have you along for the ride.
DeleteThis is not an empty compliment when I say that I think THIS is my very favorite garden space I've ever seen in Blog Land. I just love it, and it makes me feel so good inside. I can see how it would give you a tremendous amount of joy.
ReplyDeleteAnd as soon as I have a pair of minutes, I'm planting some impatiens in my galvanized tin thingy.
Thanks, Debbie ... you're just the sweetest.
DeleteAs for those impatiens, the only thing I did was "plant" a bucket of them in my tin thingy and--voila! If they die, I can easily replace.
To clarify, most things were planted in the ground, but I wanted some mobile things to move around, if needed. It is a challenging spot out there. I have full sun in places, filtered sun in places, and full shade in places. Then you have the matter of the sun/earth moving throughout the season, so it's a waiting game sometimes.
DeleteI'll miss all this beauty of spring's garden by the time I make my next visit to the mainland. Thank you helping me, so I won't to miss as much. Love your garden. No one ever could be sad there. I agree.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelley. Sorry you will miss spring. I was beginning to think I would miss it, too, staying on the road so long.
DeleteAs for proofing ... there are times I dislike my phone very much. HA!
Sorry I didn't proof that comment thoroughly with this phone. It's midnight... I should asleep... Zzzzzz
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing your spot of heaven with me. If these flowers could talk....
ReplyDeleteLike most things, a garden is sweeter when shared. So glad I can share it with you. Yes ... if these flowers could talk ...
DeleteDayle, what a beautiful garden! I know what you mean about tending your garden, "it just does the body good while watering or pinching off dead heads."
ReplyDeleteThank you, Karen. Only a gardener would understand. There's just something about it that's hard to explain.
DeleteOh Dayle, your garden looks BEAUTIFUL. Oh, I just love the impatiens. Soooo nice. Great job! Beautiful colors, too. Susan
ReplyDeleteThis is so true! Yours is just beautiful! Thank you for joining me at Home Sweet Home!
