Welcome to another Simple Pleasures party. It's spring break for many people, and I hope the majority of you are out enjoying your families, but for those who are in town, you are invited to link up and join the fun. If you’re here for the first time, please click on the Simple Pleasures tab above for important information before linking up.
I said it last week, but let me say again that I want to keep this party fun, which means you shouldn't stress out about it if you don't have time to visit with each and every person here. If you can only chat with the one in front of you, and the one behind you, then you're helping spread the love.

This time last year, The Man and I were in Arizona. Our main mission there was taking in some Major League Baseball spring training games (since retirement, it's been an annual voyage), but we always make time for sightseeing, as well. Last year, that included a trip on the Grand Canyon Railway, to see the magnificent Grand Canyon; neither of us had seen it in winter, so we just had to go. It was breathtaking!
The Man and I had planned a spring trip this year (probably back to Florida this time), but, alas, other not-so-fun things have required our attention at home.
So ... whenever cabin fever sets in (and it has, at times, in a big way), I open up a photo album and remember.
“A person is neither whole nor healthy without the memories of photo albums. They are the storybook of our lives. They provide a nostalgic escape from the tormented days of the present.”

What's your simple pleasure?

Wonderful Simple Pleasure! Mine are treasures, too.
ReplyDeleteOne of my fondest memories is sitting around on a Sunday afternoon with my mom looking through her photo box. I love the way you put these together in a scrapbook.
ReplyDeletePhotos are truly treasured memories.
Blessings,
Joan
Okay, Dayle, you do an amazing job on scrapbooks!! Do you hire out? :) (I'm "only" 3 years behind....) 3 years x 7 kids = LOTS of pictures!
ReplyDeleteWow...that is really a very nice scrapbook! Lots and lots of pictures. It shows how much you truly enjoy making them :)
ReplyDeleteM.
I enjoy looking at photo albums, too! I am participating in Simple Pleasures for the first time this week. Thank you for hosting this! ~Karen
ReplyDeletePhotos do capture those moments and good times, don't they. Love the way you created these beautiful pages.
ReplyDeleteMy husband drives up (Florida) every spring with our son for a father and son tradition. I should make some kind of scrapbook of all these years. Our son is 21 now and I know it gets even more special as time goes by. Love your albums.
ReplyDeleteYour photo albums are impressive!
ReplyDeletePictures do have a way of transporting you, for awhile. I've taken a few "vacations" just by looking at family photos.
Dayle,
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny! I just finished my Simple Pleasures blog for this week and guess what I chose as my Simple Pleasure? You guessed it! Photo Albums! Great minds... :0)
~Jean
P.S. Yours are gorgeous! I can see you take scrapping seriously!
Glad to be joining Simple Pleasures again today with my photo blog. I love scrapbooking. I haven't done much of it lately but will be kicking it into gear soon because my niece wants me to scrapbook her engagement pictures as part of her guestbook for her wedding in June. I'm gonna be busy!
ReplyDeleteDear Dayle,
ReplyDeleteOh yes looking back at photos is a simple pleasure that brings so many fond memories. I so enjoy this. Thanks for the reminder to have another look
Blessings
Gae
Your photo albums are really creative and lovely, Dayle!
ReplyDeletePhotos are one possession I do treasure, as they help bring back the memories so well :-)
The landscape in your pics is very beautiful-no wonder you wanted to 'relive' the moments.
bless you..Trish
Dayle, I love these scrapbook pages! I have my Simple Pleasures post and have tried a few times to link it up, but having trouble with the pictures. Will try tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThank you for fixing my link last week, for this blog party and for all of your posts!
I love to look in photo albums. With all this digital stuff, I'm really slacking. Nothing replaces being able to pull out an album and flip back and forth through the pages. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteremembering the fun stuff is great...and these are great shots and memories....Have a great Thursday and hey....Happy st. Pat's.
ReplyDeleteOh Dayle, I have never been a photo album or scrapbook keeper, and I've always wanted to be. I don't know why I keep my momentos all stashed away in boxes instead of doing what you do.
ReplyDeleteI keep sayin that I will.
I love this, and almost covet it.
I meant saying. I'm stuck in leprechaun talk mode, I guess.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great simple pleasure...now I want to pull my scrapbooking things out again, I am so far behind. It was your 30th Anniversary also if I remember right, what a wonderful keep sake.
ReplyDeleteDayle, your scrapbook is lovely! You are very talented. I love my photos too, but will confess that most of them are just stored on my hard drive and disc. I love to just pop in the disc and travel down memory lane and watch my children grow throughout the years though. Thanks again for hosting this party. I am loving participating weekly. Blessings <3 Paula
ReplyDeleteYour photo albums look amazing !! what great memories to reflect back on .
ReplyDeleteI am having trouble linking up with you today
as anyone else said they were having trouble ?
Glenna (Kay K), I just linked up to test Mr. Linky. It did OK for me. I will try to add your link for you and see what happens.
ReplyDeleteGlenna, it worked for me. I didn't know what to title yours. If you'll tell me, I can go back in and change it. I think I'll stick with the smaller thumbnails next week. Not sure if that's hindering things.
ReplyDeleteWhat neat photo albums. Maybe someday I will get to mine. Time where does it go?
ReplyDeleteBlessings
-Mary
I just bought an album set that came with 50 sheets of wild patterned paper....our two grown sons are coming home together next week for the first time in 2 1/2 years. I'm going to put together an album of the few days they are here; I know I'll have plenty of photographs.
ReplyDelete(BTW...small thumbnails are the answer to many of the problems Mr. Linky suffers; many photos are just too large. I now resize my blog photos twice...once for my post and smaller for Mr. Linky.)
One of my most favorite things to do, especially with children. Greta simple pleasure.
ReplyDeleteSue
My thoughts are with you as you tackle your not-so-fun things at home.
ReplyDeleteI love your new(?)banner.
Dayle I love photos so much and especially the really old ones. When I found all my Grandmother's photos I realized how special they were as so many families back then could not afford to have phpotos taken or just did not think to take photos . Now we can snap a zillion photos and it is so hard to pic a fav one because there are just so many good ones ☺
ReplyDeleteI wish you simple pleasures was on fridays because I do the tea talk on thursday and have nothing for fridays ! However I do like to spend my friday coming here and seeing all the entries ☺
Thanks Dayle
Lov Rox
Dayle, I so agree with your quotation, photographs are definitely the storybooks of our lives. I like to do special albums of special holidays just how you have done yours. Thank you for dreaming up and hosting Simple Pleasures I really do enjoy it.
