To put it bluntly, he was not the dog I wanted to share my time in the sun with. Matter of fact, at my age, I didn't want another dog, period. But … he needed us, and, in some strange way, I think we needed him. He’s my grand-dog, Diesel, and one thing he enjoys doing on sun-drenched days, is taking turns on the lounger with his Maw Maw. (Psst ... Can you tell he's my only grandchild?)
It may not seem like much of a simple pleasure, perhaps, but as Roger Caras said, “Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
Do you have a furry friend who makes you smile? Whatever simple pleasure you’ve discovered, I’m dying to hear about it. Diesel is perfectly gorgeous! What a lovely grand-dog. I had a grand-cat who stole my heart years ago but she's gone now. I still miss Ms. Toby. She was a beautiful, temperamental orange cat and a joy to us.

Dear Dayle,
ReplyDeleteYou are so much more generous than I am. I can share with children, babies and although we have animals I am not good at sharing with them
Blessings

I'm a dog lover (cats also). Diesel is alright! He certainly looks content in your lounge chair. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, Dayle....he's so beautiful. I'd definitely share my lounger with him :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... he is just adorable. Yes, I do have a dog that brings a smile to my face also, and a cat :-)

What a sweet face. I'd have a hard time waking him up, he's so cute sleeping.
ReplyDeleteHi Dayle....I'm sure the pup enjoys the sun while sharing your lounger. Wonder if he tans. hee hee Thanks for doing this weekly party. It's nice to think of our simple pleasures.Susan
ReplyDeleteNow that's the life! What a sweet picture of your "grandchild" :)
ReplyDeleteThat picture definitely made me smile. I think I look like your Deisel when I'm sprawled out on the lounger. Or at least, I fear I do.
ReplyDeleteThe furriest creature around here is the one I married, but if your daughter's dog is your grandpup, wonder what I should call my niece's cat whom I love... Guess I'll just stick to Whiskers.
Oh my goodness, Dayle, what a face. ADORABLE! He's definitely living the good life. We have two and have had two more. I think we're done though...unless we run into a face like this one. I'm such a pushover for such faces. :) Thanks for sharing that great picture.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day.
I guess he's my nephew once removed? Whatever, her thinks he's a poodle.
