Every week (and I mean EVERY week), I'm blown away by the amazing people who attend the Simple Pleasures party, and by the creativity and warmth and friendliness that you bring with you. Seriously. I'm always telling newcomers what a friendly bunch of bloggers come to this party, and it makes my day when they tell me I was right. So, from my heart, thank you. If this party ever gets too big for me to manage, or too much for me to handle, I will let you know and, hopefully, someone else will pick up the torch. But, until then, I'm still having fun, thanks to all of you.
If you're new here, please visit the Simple Pleasures page (see tab above) before linking up. There is important information there, and a few specific guidelines that need to be followed. Thanks for your interest, and I hope to see you at the party.
On Saturday, my sweet daughter and I went in for one-hour massages, thanks to the generosity of Santa Claus. I didn't want to interrupt the massage mood by snapping photographs in the very dark room (hehe), so I captured this sign instead.
It had been a year or two since I'd had a massage and Tammy was amazing, applying the perfect amount of pressure, based on my preference (I go for medium). I'd forgotten just how relaxing and beneficial massages are, both to the mind and body. There's something about the human touch--whether it's a hug, a pat on the back, a touch of the hand--that can't be duplicated. As for my massage, I could totally get used to this simple pleasure ... like weekly. OK, I'd settle for monthly.

What's your simple pleasure today?

Dear Dayle, how sweet to read of you and your daughter having a simple pleasure moment. I too have a post about my daughter and I for this week. As I was finishing up the post, she was actually giving me a back massage. You are so right, there is something really special about the "human touch".
ReplyDeleteI love this meme, thank you for hosting it.
((hugs))

Oh, I could so go for weekly! Sweet husband got me a massage for Christmas, but I'm waiting to redeem until after the half-marathon when I'm sure I'll have some sore muscles to attend to!
ReplyDeleteYou have a very special party here. Thanks for being such a beautiful hostess!
Dayle, a massage sounds like a fabulous Simple Pleasure. I'd like one right now. Mmmmmmm. That would be great. Susan
ReplyDeleteThere is really something unique and "special" about the touch of another human being.
ReplyDeleteIt applies the right amount of comfort when it is needed. I am so glad that you were able to enjoy such a special time with your daughter :)
Maria.
Nothing like a massage to bust a little stress. You and lovely Anna so deserved it. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAs a friend of mine says, "Do it again, Lord." lol Massages are a simple pleasure of mine as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's been too long since I've had this wonderful treat. Sounds divine. Glad you were able to enjoy it with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteVery nice gift from Santa! I'm more relaxed now just thinking about having a massage. :)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for you, Dayle!
ReplyDeleteA little TLC goes a long way :-)
I remember when I had to have remedial massage - it was indeed a pleasure and much needed relaxant for me!
Thanks gain for Simple Pleasures.
God bless..Trish
It's been too long since I had a massage. Truly a simple pleasure!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Joan
Dayle,
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful time you must have had with your daughter at the Spa! The last massage I had was a twenty minute chair massage and even that felt wonderful! Thank you so much for hosting this fun time for all of us.

That's definitely a simple and special pleasure. And to spend time with your daughter too, that's special.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I could not get my link to work. I don't know what I did wrong as I do this all the time. I will try again, but for tonight...I must rest. Hope you are having a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I could very happily have a daily....or, for that matter, hourly, massage!! They're just bliss, aren't they? I feel relaxed just thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteI can see I'll need to be having words with Santa next year!!

Dayle,
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful gift!
Thank you, again, for hosting every week.
Because of the fibromyalgia, I can totally relate to this one. Even a simple shoulder rub can literally make my day.
ReplyDeleteWithout a doubt, this is a simple pleasure of mine, too.
Now, that is a wonderful simple pleasure!!!!!! I need to do this soon. Happy Thursday!
ReplyDeleteYou sound relaxed and refreshed. A simple pleasure with a bonus - enjoying it with your daughter.
ReplyDeletespending time with you dgt. is the best...the massage...a bonus.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spend an hour, so simple but so pleasurable.
ReplyDeleteDayle, I've only had one professional massage in my entire life...and it was at a mini-retreat with a dozen ladies, one being a massage therapist; but, I'll tell you what...it was SO relaxing. If only my husband would learn how...his sister is a trained therapist...but he his version of a massage is the simple "pat-pat-rub-done" :)
ReplyDeleteAwe, well. Glad to hear that you enjoyed such a wonderfully important simple pleasure ♥
I just found your blog and challenge. I added it my photo challenge page!
ReplyDeleteThat truly sounds absolutely wonderful! I may have to look into that at our spa locally... =)
ReplyDeletePS Thank you so much for the warm welcome, much appreciated! =)
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to get a lovely, relaxing message. Spas are such fun places and your looks like a very soothing and welcoming one. Thank you for hosting.(-:
ReplyDeleteOhhh what a WONDERFUL gift. I have had one one time in my life and yes you are right if I had my choice Monthly or weekly would be perfect. *grin* Glad you and your dd had a wonderful way to relax.

ReplyDeleteSpending special times with a daughter is so meaningful.
Hello! I'm coming from Katia's blog. I like your beautiful meme and I hope to join starting this week. Thai massage is one of my simple pleasures. My heart would just overflow with thanksgiving to God whenever I lay on that mattress and enjoy a relaxing massage. I do it monthly because it's only walking distance away from my house.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it doubles the pleasure with the company of your sweet daughter.
Hope to come back soon.
I am loving just being with my animals and hubby and reading on cold ,gray days when I don't have to work.
