Welcome to another week of Simple Pleasures. I know we're entering into the busiest season of the year, and I considered putting this party on hold until after the first of the year, but even if only a few of you can show up each week, I'm going to press on, Lord willing and the creek don't rise. After all, this party is all about s-l-o-w-i-n-g down, and what better time to slow down than in the busy holiday season? If you're new, please visit the Simple Pleasures page for complete guidelines. The main thing is to stay on topic, enter your permalink (email me if unsure what that means), don't link up until your post is active, and include a link back to the party (or include a Simple Pleasures button in your post, if that's easier). That's pretty much it. I can't wait to visit with you.
Do you see what I see?
Yep ... it's empty.
That can only mean one thing.
The dishwasher-unloading fairy has been in the kitchen,
although I prefer to call him, and he'd prefer that I call him, The Man.
The joy of discovering an empty dishwasher is my simple pleasure today.
What's yours?

It IS a great simple pleasure to discover the dishwasher unloaded and everything put away! Thanks for keeping Simple Pleasures going through the holidays...I love this day of the week!

Dayle, that was a lovely surprise for you. What a great guy! An empty sink and dishwasher makes the day start out so good :-) blessings..Trish
ReplyDeleteOH yes, definitely a simple pleasure. Some mornings, my son will unload the dishwasher for me and I'm truly grateful.
ReplyDeleteNot fair ... yours is so sparkly clean! :)
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh, learning you, too, hava a "fairy" in your house. My DH is so thoughtful about unloading it for me; 'n everytime I say "thanks" he'll say, "Weren't me; the fairy was here."
...Gosh that little devil gets around, doesn't he? :)
Love this...and maybe I will see one one day...but with the four of us still home and cooking regularly for 10 of us...it would only be for a split second!!Fun post!!!
ReplyDeleteCan I tell you that unloading the dishwasher is just about my most unfavorite job? Good thing I have a dishwasher fairy that lives at my house, too!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!
ReplyDeleteDayle,
ReplyDeleteThe empty dishwasher picture speaks volumes! Now, if only the "dishwashing fairy" could keep it empty . . . forever. LOL! :)
At any rate, this is my first time visiting your blog. It's been an enjoyable visit. :)
Blessings,
-Lady Rose
P.S. Maybe one day I'll join-in on one of these Simple Pleasure Days in the future.
Yup, empty dishwasher is a good simple pleasure, Dayle. Guess what? I'll add a second one. My DISHWASHER is a simple pleasure, too. I love it when I don't have to wash dishes by hand, especially when company comes. Thanks for hosting this fun party. Susan
ReplyDeleteI agree with Susan, my dishwasher is a simple pleasure too. But I'm always very grateful and thankful if someone comes along and empties it once the wash cycle is complete. It's a nice surprise!
ReplyDeleteI can totally see why this is a simple pleasure, Dayle :) Tonight, my boys actually cleaned up the table and put away the leftovers from dinner...I was so impressed by their willingness.
ReplyDeleteDayle,
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful thing...the empty dishwasher!
Thank you for hosting, and hopefully I'll be able to load some pictures soon to my post..
Have a great day!
Dayle,
ReplyDeleteI agree, when all the dishes are clean and put away it is a simple pleasure! Glad you are keeping S.P. going through the holiday season. Thanks!

Gotta love an empty dishwasher and the "man" that left it that way!
ReplyDeleteThankyou for hosting this Simple Pleasures. I don't have a dishwasher, yet I do have a dishwasher! He has washed many a dish. And so my pleasure is complete.
ReplyDeleteTh man is pretty good!!! And thanks Dayle for hosting these awesome simple pleasures....
ReplyDeleteAlways always! a simple pleasure for me too Dayle, thank you for sharing, and thank you for allowing me to share my simple pleasures.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sue
Yes, I agree Dayle. I don't mind cleaning up after a meal, knowing I've already got that job out of the way! But, a dishwasher in itself is one for me. For 18 yrs. of married life I did not have one. Many times over, I've thanked the Lord while loading it. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteReally and truly, an empty dishwasher (or a step down - an empty sink) is one of my rarest, but most treasured simple pleasures! And I *love* the fact that The Man did that for you. I recently discovered that my number one love language is Acts of Service. I cannot tell you how much a gesture like this is cherished!
ReplyDeleteAnd I would *completely* miss the Simple Pleasures Party, but if you need a break, take one! That can be our Christmas present to you. ;)
I'm the only dishwasher around here and most days I feel like all I do is wash dishes. Where do they all come from? Hope you are having a great day. :) Tammy
ReplyDeleteOh I just couldn't agree more...such a wonderful surprise once in a while to open that thing and find it's all been taken care of! YAY..to an empty dishwasher, and THE MAN who did it...BLESSINGS
ReplyDeleteWhat a great simple pleasure! Wish I shared that one with you today :)
ReplyDeleteYour simple pleasure is great ...its nice to have a husband to help mine does most of the dishes too love it !!!thanks for being so creative with simple pleasures
ReplyDelete:) That was so sweet of him...it really is the simple things that are the greatest.
ReplyDeleteFinding an already unloaded dishwasher is indeed a simple pleasure! My sweetie hates to load it, but he is great about unloading it and I love him for it. Hope you have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Dayle,
ReplyDeleteI linked up and had to run to class! I'm back to say, I am married to the same kind of honeybun who loves to make the bed and empty the dishwasher too. Oh, there's nothing simple about it...it is pure pleasure!!!! Since I started back to school he's even tried to cook and has some talent. I am very thankful for 37-1/2 years with a very Christlike individual. Thanks for reminding me.
Simply looking at this picture brought me joy. ;) How wonderful when the "fairies" make it to the kitchen for more than just eating. I love this. Tell Mr. Man he is a good man. I have one of those too. Need him to check out this post. =D
ReplyDeleteThank you Dayle, for bringing such simple joy to me each week with this blog-hop. Have a beautiful day.
That would definitely put a smile on my face!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteSo blessed you are!
I think I will go empty the dishwasher for my daughter (it's her job).
Hugs, Dayle!
Dayle - I haven't had a chance to participate the past couple of weeks. Truthfully, I've been too busy to get around to visiting others. However, things should slow down a bit, so I hope to join everyone next week.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are keeping this going through the holidays. With all the busyness at that time, it is important to slow down and enjoy life's simple pleasures.
I've thought of hosting a Monday link up through the month of December, but I'm still thinking that one through.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,
Joan
I looove to go to unload and find
ReplyDeleteMr. Vintagesouthern has already unloaded. It really is one of the simple pleasures.
I linked your blog to my post and went back to add my link and it had already closed :(
I'll catch you on the next one.
Annette
Seriously, the empty dishwasher is a simple pleasure indeed. Whenever I discover my dishwasher fairy has appeared, I shout out, "I love this man!" and then we both crack up.
ReplyDeleteMy dishwasher fairy just moved across the country, but once again your "simple pleasures" remind me of how thankful I need to be of all of life's simple little pleasures. I really like when you share yours.
