That can only mean one thing.
The dishwasher-unloading fairy has been in the kitchen,
although I prefer to call him, and he'd prefer that I call him, The Man.
The joy of discovering an empty dishwasher is my simple pleasure today.

ReplyDeleteOH yes, definitely a simple pleasure. Some mornings, my son will unload the dishwasher for me and I'm truly grateful.

ReplyDeleteI had to laugh, learning you, too, hava a "fairy" in your house. My DH is so thoughtful about unloading it for me; 'n everytime I say "thanks" he'll say, "Weren't me; the fairy was here."
...Gosh that little devil gets around, doesn't he? :)
Love this...and maybe I will see one one day...but with the four of us still home and cooking regularly for 10 of us...it would only be for a split second!!Fun post!!!

ReplyDeleteI agree with Susan, my dishwasher is a simple pleasure too. But I'm always very grateful and thankful if someone comes along and empties it once the wash cycle is complete. It's a nice surprise!

Yes, I agree Dayle. I don't mind cleaning up after a meal, knowing I've already got that job out of the way! But, a dishwasher in itself is one for me. For 18 yrs. of married life I did not have one. Many times over, I've thanked the Lord while loading it. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteReally and truly, an empty dishwasher (or a step down - an empty sink) is one of my rarest, but most treasured simple pleasures! And I *love* the fact that The Man did that for you. I recently discovered that my number one love language is Acts of Service. I cannot tell you how much a gesture like this is cherished!

ReplyDeleteI linked up and had to run to class! I'm back to say, I am married to the same kind of honeybun who loves to make the bed and empty the dishwasher too. Oh, there's nothing simple about it...it is pure pleasure!!!! Since I started back to school he's even tried to cook and has some talent. I am very thankful for 37-1/2 years with a very Christlike individual. Thanks for reminding me.
Simply looking at this picture brought me joy. ;) How wonderful when the "fairies" make it to the kitchen for more than just eating. I love this. Tell Mr. Man he is a good man. I have one of those too. Need him to check out this post. =D

Dayle - I haven't had a chance to participate the past couple of weeks. Truthfully, I've been too busy to get around to visiting others. However, things should slow down a bit, so I hope to join everyone next week.

Seriously, the empty dishwasher is a simple pleasure indeed. Whenever I discover my dishwasher fairy has appeared, I shout out, "I love this man!" and then we both crack up.
