The cooler temperatures have a way of infusing me with some sort of magic energy. I am raring and ready to do anything and everything. I don't know how to explain it anymore than that. (hehe)
Today found me in the spirit of doing a little fall gardening. (I can't ever shift gears until that first cool snap arrives.) So, I did what I normally do in the yard, which is something easy and as little as I can get away with.
A couple of crotons, a trio of pumpkins, and two charming scarecrows.
It doesn't get any easier than that.
And come evening time ...
... there'll be coffee and candles (and maybe something sweet) out on the patio.
How's your fall shaping up? I'd love to know.

After such a long and very hot summer, I think that most everyone is looking forward to fall and enjoying these cooler temps. At the moment, I have the windows open in the downtown condo and am smelling the smoke from fireplaces in the homes nearby -

Hi Dayle...Awwww, your decorations look adorable. Nice patio arrangement, too. Hope you have a great Wednesday. Susan
ReplyDeleteDayle, such a refresher isn't it? Nothing like enjoying the outside this time of year. I love the box on the table with the flowers!

Your photos are lovely!!! I have a whole summer of work to catch up on...it was too hot to do anything but the bare minimum this summer!!!
ReplyDeleteCute fall decorations. I haven't done any yet except a Halloween decorative pumpkin inside. We actually have had a few nights of cooler (60's) weather here, so it's beginning. :)
ReplyDeleteI love fall. I started decorating inside last week and it has stayed a mess since them...must finish soon! Your place looks great. We are having very cool nights and mornings now...so that helps get one in the mood.
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy fall!
I love your serene outdoor get away.

ReplyDeleteLovely blog.

We've had a little cold snap, too. It feels wonderful but I'm not convinced we won't heat up again so I won't get my hopes up just yet. Your fall front looks adorable. Patty
ReplyDeleteI feel exactly the same way about fall zapping me into outdoor project mode. Unfortunately, I've been inside too much this week preparing for a women's conference lesson tomorrow night. I am looking longingly at the back yard...
ReplyDeleteNext week. I hope!
Love your fall display!
Thank you for your encouragement on the test! I am nervous, but hopefully the studying will help ease those nerves.
ReplyDeleteI am so completely with you on fall. The cool air just energizes me in an indescribable way. Whenever this season rolls around, I find myself sad when bedtime comes because the days are so precious. And just before we hunker down for the evening, I like to walk outside and breathe in that cool, crisp air. Just so I have enough to last me until the morning. I just *love* it!
Your scarecrow makes me smile! I need to pull my fall decor out, before October passes me by!
Looks great...the evening spot looks very inviting. I agree about the "burst of energy" fall weather brings, love it!
ReplyDeletethere is nothing more invigorating than crisp, cool days.
ReplyDeleteyou have made your home look so warm and inviting.
i'm totally going to copy the porch candle idea. :)
What lovely photo's. We're getting things ready to go to Florida for 6 months so Fall means leaving the mountains of NC and going to the mostly warm winter of Florida.
ReplyDeleteOh Dayle,
ReplyDeleteYou are so far ahead of me on this one! Our weather finally has begun to cooperate also but for some reason (my computer, maybe?) I've no desire to be out in the garden! I guess I'll have to get out there soon and so some cleaning up - my neighbors asked it they could be of help! Ut oh!

ReplyDeleteAn evening in the cool air on the patio sounds good to me! Lovely photos too.
